Save the Children advocacy and campaigning

An online course in 15 sessions, each requiring 1-3 hour, for a total of 27.5 hours.

With an initial focus on Save the Children’s topics and strategy, this course walks through the essential steps of advocacy and campaigning. Some sessions (9, 12, 13, 14, 15) cover specific themes, such as child participation, budget tracking and humanitarian advocacy. New guidelines are currently in development.

A self-directed learning tool offering a good overview of the advocacy process. It takes a practical approach with activities and opportunities to reflect on your own experiences. Although it focuses on Save the Children thematic areas, the central sessions are applicable to all. Designed especially for beginners.

Skills and resources required: Little knowledge of advocacy, campaigning and project management. Willingness to learn by doing and to discuss with others for testing and further learning.
