Producing policy-relevant evidence to address global challenges
Innovative methodological approaches and practical tips
Type
WebinarThis conversation brought together three economists from the University of Bath specialising in international development. The discussion centred on the relationship between evidence, public policy and development practice in tackling pressing global challenges – including pandemics, climate change, economic polarisation and reversal of the pre-Covid decline in absolute poverty.
The speakers shared examples from their own work, generating and applying empirical evidence relevant to these challenges. They discussed innovative methodological approaches to policy relevant research and evaluation, and offered practical tips for making decisions when evidence is scarce.
Designed for a broad audience interested in these issues, the webinar aims to offer fresh perspectives on how evidence can guide us towards equitable and effective approaches to address complex challenges.
