Statement on the International Court of Justice outcome
Following the ICJ’s order today for Israel to take all measures to prevent genocide in Gaza, Bond, the UK network for over 350 NGOs and humanitarian agencies, has released the following statement:
Romilly Greenhill, CEO of Bond, the UK network for NGOs said:
The UK government should acknowledge the findings of the ICJ and support implementation of the provisional measures. Failure to do so will risk the UK falling short of its own ethical, legal and moral obligations. It is beyond time that the UK recognises that only a full and immediate ceasefire can deliver comprehensive adherence to these measures and join calls for the comprehensive cessation of violence by all parties, unfettered access of humanitarian assistance, the safe return of all hostages, and a just sustainable peace.
ENDS.
