Rebecca Aaberg is the senior inclusion specialist at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), where she designs tools for increasing political participation of persons with disabilities and supports civil society advocacy. Her experience includes leading trainings on disability-inclusive participation for election management bodies, government stakeholders and civil society, including disabled people’s organizations, in more than 15 countries. She has co-authored publications, including IFES’ Election Access Observation Toolkit and “Disability Rights and Election Observation: Increasing Access to the Political Process” in the Nordic Journal of Human Rights.
Prior to joining IFES in 2015, she worked for the Council for a Community of Democracies, an international nongovernmental organization that promoted democracy education and civil society participation. Aaberg received a master’s degree from the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
