Rachel Smith is the UK co-CEO at GlobalGiving leading efforts to transform aid and philanthropy to accelerate community-led change, both within the organisation and across the ecosystem. She believes this work requires inquiry, innovation and practical action and work in collaboration with others, especially people in communities that philanthropy and development efforts seek to support. To date, GlobalGiving has globally mobilised more than $600m for initiatives in more than 175 countries, making it possible for communities to identify, resource and solve issues they face. Previously, Rachel worked in local government, in marketing, and as an archaeologist – a career beginning that deepened her appreciation for culture and the way people live their lives.
