Jessica is a political and international development specialist who provides strategy, communications, and advocacy support. She is currently executive director at the Centre for Development Results and a former political advisor to two shadow secretaries of state for international development.
Jessica coordinated a global campaign to secure the inclusion of early childhood development targets in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She successfully delivered two high-profile events at the UN working with the Governments of Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Italy, and UNICEF. This campaign engaged 12,000 people in 170 countries and led to the adoption of target 4.2 in the new Global Goals framework. She continues to advise organisations and governments on the implementation of these Goals.
Jessica has a strong track record of policy and organisational development. As a Political Advisor, Jessica led the development of the UK Labour Party’s position on the SDGs and on global corporate taxation ahead of the G8 in 2013. Whilst at DTZ, a global property advisory firm, she coordinated the development of the firm’s sustainability services across 6 global offices and launched their first sustainability thought leadership publication.
For the past two years, Jessica has participated in the UK-China Young Leaders Roundtable, part of the FCO’s UK-China High Level People-to-People Dialogue. She was also a British Council Hammamet Fellow and Steering Committee member. This Conference brings together delegates from the UK and North Africa to discuss political leadership and development.
