As an independent consultant, Haniya supports INGOs with the paradigm shift from grants to commercial contracts. She enables organisations to undertake contracts and complex grants by evaluating systems and processes; designing strategic road maps; identifying skills gaps and capacity needs; and supporting pre-positioning strategies.
She provides advice and training on bidding for commercial contracts, negotiation, payment by results and value for money, as well as representing organisations in negotiations with partners and commissioners. She also sits on review boards evaluating commercial contract applications.
Haniya established and chaired the Bond Commercial Contracts Group three years ago. Her previous roles include Head of Commercial Contracts at the International Rescue Committee and Acting Country Director for Somalia at Islamic Relief Worldwide. She has been a speaker at the InterAction Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. and the Bond Annual Conference and Exhibition in London.
