Brian James is a published author featured in various anthologies; On the Road to Godiva (Book of Voices, 2005), Devils at the Door (Dreams, Miracles and Jazz, 2008), Simple Economics (Caine Prize for African Writing – Work In Progress, 2009) and The Dark Man (The Price and other Stories, 2013). He is also a screenwriter, having written several movies produced by Premier Media Films and Paradise films
In 2010 he was selected to be the Guest Writer at the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala, Sweden. During this period, he appeared at the Gothenburg Book Fair, during which he engaged in a highly publicized panel discussion with some of the most influential writers on the African continent.
He has also published two biographies – Called to Serve on the Reverend Canon Modupe Taylor-Pearce and Tough Love on Femi Iris Hamilton, both of whom are esteemed figures in Christian and Education circles respectively.
He works primarily as a communications consultant and lecturer at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. He is also currently editor of Hidden Voices Magazine Sierra Leone.
