Ben Leather is the Director of Peace Brigades International (PBI). PBI provides protection and support to individuals, communities, movements and organisations that defend human rights and the environment, through its unique model of holistic protective accompaniment.

Ben Leather has been working in environmental and human rights campaigning, investigations and training for over fifteen years. He has successfully advocated alongside activists worldwide for corporate accountability, environmental safeguards and human rights defender protection. While much of his work has focused on Latin America, Ben has also carried out investigations into abuses linked to natural resource exploitation in Asia and Africa and has extensive experience in UK, US and UN advocacy. He has also helped strengthen risk management strategies and tools for grassroots activists. Before being appointed Director of PBI UK, Ben worked at Kamara, Global Witness, the International Service for Human Rights and PBI Mexico.
