We support NGOs to get better at transparency
Bond has been working with UK NGOs on getting better at transparency since 2013. We have developed a new service – the Transparency Review [This service is no longer available] – which helps development organisations benchmark and improve their organisational transparency. We have also set up a members-led transparency working group which meets quarterly and is online, click here for more information. We help members to respond to consultations by regulators and funders on increasing reporting and transparency requirements, including those by DFID, the Charity Commission and the Cabinet Office.
There are real, practical benefits to increasing transparency within your organisation.
Our transparency and IATI services are part of the Bond effectiveness, learning and training programme. For more information about Bond’s own transparency, including our open information policy, information about our grants and a link to our IATI data, go to our Open information page.
We support civil society to publish to IATI
The International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) provides a standard framework for publishing data on development finance flows. It emerged from the transparency principles agreed as part of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness in 2005 and affirmed at Busan on February 2011 and in Mexico in 2014. Bond has been working with NGOs and DFID since 2011 to support publication of data to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) and increase the transparency of NGO information.
Many of the organisations publishing to IATI are UK-based civil society organisations, including Bond, or southern organisations who are DFID grant-holders.
Bond offers services such as training (online and face-to-face), consultancy and specialist workshops to organisations in the north and south who either aspire to or are required to publish to IATI, and to fund managers supporting grantees to publish.
We have the expertise and team to work with a wide variety of organisations from the start of their IATI journey setting up a sustainable publishing practice to analysing and using their own IATI data and going beyond the minimum requirements. For more information about our services, please contact us at [email protected]. If you are already in the process of publishing information to IATI and you need help with a specific enquiry, please contact us at [email protected].
